This is my first attempt at entering my fortnightly comments directly into our new club runner website.  Andrew has been very busy behind the scenes and a tremendous amount of work has been done getting information entered and our website up and running.  I would encourage everyone to log-in to the members area, have a good look around and really familiarise yourself with the content.  Andrew and other members of the Media/PR committee are available to help and training sessions are being organised but remember, you can't break it!  If you can't recall your log-in details there is the ability to have the user name emailed to you and once you are logged in then you are able to edit the user name to something that may be easier to remember.
Welcome to the members of our satellite club.  Very soon Liz (our bulletin editor) will be in touch to get a few details so each member can be profiled in our bulletin and we can get to know you.  As a word of warning, the same will be done for Alexandra Club members so we won't be strangers for long.
District Governor Janice Hughes is making her first visit to our club on 9th August so please mark this date in your diaries and let us see if we can have a really good attendance on that night.
We have several new club members waiting in the wings to be inducted and also a new member for the Teviot Valley satellite club.  This is a great start to our Rotary year..
Just a couple of quick house-keeping reminders - don't forget that apologies need to be emailed to Centennial Court by 5.00pm on Monday. Also, of you are bringing a guest, advance notice would be appreciated.  The next reminder is the person thanking the speaker now has to provide a brief summary of the talk for our bulletin.  Thank you Kevin and Dianne for getting this done first up.
My challenge to all members over the next fortnight is to find your way around the website and log-in to the members area - who knows, one night there might be a test!!
